CloudFest 2026, Europapark Rust

At CloudFest 2026 from March 23 – 26, visitors could explore the latest in hard disk drive technology and discover how Toshiba, along with its core partners, can help faster implement and optimize cloud storage solutions.

This year’s highlights:

• UGREEN NAS devices: We showcased a range of UGREEN network storage systems — from compact 2‑bay models to larger 8‑bay versions — and compared their performance and storage capacity.
• Performance demo of a 60‑bay storage server:  We set up a powerful server with space for 60 hard drives and a total of 1 petabyte of storage. Running on TrueNAS and ideal for data analytics, classical machine learning, and CPU‑based AI workloads, it also offered a smooth upgrade path towards GPU‑accelerated AI.
• 2 petabytes of storage in action: Over 100 hard drives with 24 TB each were combined in this setup. Using JovianDSS from Open‑E, we demonstrated the performance of the ZFS file system in a real‑world scenario.
• Live demo of a 1.3‑petabyte cluster: A full storage cluster built with a 60‑bay Promise JBOD and a mix of hardware and software RAID, were shown live in operation.
